Description

CR117 high density fine grain cork sheets are versatile, precision-cut sheet cork made from fine grain composition cork, engineered for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and creative applications. These sheets feature a dense, consistent grain structure with a minimum density of 250 kg/m³ (15.6 lb/ft³), delivering reliable compression, recovery, and tensile strength for demanding use cases. The fine grain composition resists cracking and crumbling under repeated stress, making these sheets well-suited for gasketing, insole fabrication, and protective surface work including welding and soldering applications. Each sheet measures 36in × 24in (915mm × 610mm) at 0.8mm thickness, covering 6 sq ft (0.55m²) per sheet. Perfect for bulletin board facing, gaskets, shoe insoles, coasters, arts and crafts, architectural models, protective welding and soldering surfaces, and anywhere a thin, workable, high-density cork material is needed.

Why Choose CR117 High Density Fine Grain Cork Sheets?

  • Fine grain composition provides a smooth, consistent surface that cuts cleanly and holds its shape — ideal for precision work like gaskets, insoles, and architectural models
  • High density construction (minimum 250 kg/m³) delivers 25–45% compression and 75% recovery, outperforming standard cork sheets in applications where resilience and rebound matter
  • Available with a permanent-grade PSA backing for peel-and-stick installation — no additional adhesive required, and the backing cuts as easily as the cork itself
  • Natural heat resistance makes these sheets a practical protective surface for welding and soldering work, where synthetic alternatives may off-gas or degrade
  • Easy to cut with standard tools, compatible with hand cutting, die cutting, and scoring — no specialized equipment needed
  • Sustainably sourced natural cork is renewable, biodegradable, and free from synthetic binders, making CR117 a responsible material choice for both professional and DIY applications

CR117 sheets outperform standard craft cork and synthetic sheet materials by combining engineered density and tensile strength with the workability and natural properties of fine grain cork — a single material suited to precision fabrication, protective applications, and everyday creative use.

Width: 24in (610mm)
Thickness: 0.8mm (3/100in)
Area per sheet: 6 sq ft (0.55m²)

Density (minimum): 250 kg/m³ (15.6 lb/ft³)
Compression: 25–45%
Recovery: 75%
Tensile Strength (longitudinal): 483 kPa (70 psi)
Tensile Strength (transversal): 311 kPa (45 psi)

Installation & Care

Allow 48 hours for cork sheets to acclimate to the installation environment before use.

For sheets with PSA backing, peel the release liner and press firmly onto a clean, dry surface. The PSA backing is permanent-grade and not removable once applied — plan placement carefully before pressing into position.

For routine cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, gently wipe with mild soap and water. Avoid saturating the cork — use a lightly dampened cloth and dry promptly.

Use Cases

  • Bulletin board facing & pinnable display surfaces
  • Gaskets & industrial sealing applications
  • Shoe insoles & orthotic underlays
  • Protective surface covering for welding & soldering work
  • Coasters, trivets & surface protection
  • Arts & crafts, scrapbooking & DIY projects
  • Architectural models & scale fabrication work
  • A workable, precision-cut material for professional fabricators & hobbyists alike

Other Details

For bulletin board applications, a minimum cork thickness of 5.5mm is recommended to hold pushpins securely. CR117 sheets at 0.8mm can be used as bulletin board facing material when adhered to a rigid backing such as fiberboard, with the combined thickness reaching 5.5mm or greater. Please confirm your total assembly thickness before ordering.

Available in three quantity options: Pack of 20 sheets, Carton of 375 sheets, and Pallet of 12 Cartons. Pallet quantities are best suited for high-volume fabrication, manufacturing, and commercial applications.
