Description

Mosaic cork tiles are made from small discs cut directly from rejected or discarded wine corks creating beautiful ecologically friendly walls, floors and other surface coverings. Impervious to surface moisture and of an exceptionally high density, these cork coverings require the least amount of maintenance.  Mosaic cork tiles or cork penny tiles come on a mastic backing which is then grouted and sealed after installation.


Mosaic cork tiles can be installed on a wall or a floor surface, or even on curved surfaces. Mosaic cork is an excellent option for kitchen backsplashes, high traffic entryways & restaurants.  The mosaic discs are unfinished so can also be stained to achieve a desired color before the tiles are grouted.

Installation & Other Details

Jelinek Cork mosaic cork floor and wall tiles, also known as penny tiles, are produced from discarded wine stoppers. The wine corks are cut into circular discs and adhered to a backing to form mosaic patterns. Jelinek Cork Mosaic tiles can remain natural cork color or be stained to any other color. These tiles have all the characteristics and benefits of regular cork floor and wall coverings and suit most common rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens and entranceways. Along with flooring, Jelinek Cork Mosaic also looks and functions beautifully on walls, back splashes and counter tops. 

Jelinek Cork Mosaic installation is similar to common mosaic and ceramic tiles using the glue then grout method and then sealed. Lining tiles up against each other creates a seamless area.
